After I committed to doing Tiny Blessings, I was asked by another friend from my Church to do a cake for her son’s 7th birthday…Karate style!  Even though the birthday party was the same day as the baby shower, I really wanted to do this cake for her, especially since I could not do the one she wanted for her other son a few months ago…I had to redeem myself after saying no before!    It was a lot for this busy full time mom of 3, but I am glad I did them both – they were so fun!!

I cannot take credit for the adorable kid and dog on the cake.  I had to call in reinforcements because it turned into a really busy week.  My sweet friend Jamie is a wonderful artist and apparently a great sculptor of fondant!!  She and I had a LOT of fun one night while I worked on covering the cake and finishing all the little details and she played with fondant and created these little guys.  They turned out so cute and I hear that even a week after the event, they are still hanging out in my friends’ fridge!    Check out Jamie’s art website…she is really talented!!
